On March 10, 2022, the Wisconsin Supreme Court issued its much-awaited decision in Cree, Inc. v. Palmer.  The notable decision provided much-needed relief to Wisconsin employers by clarifying the WFEA’s arrest and conviction record discrimination law, easing employers’ burden for proving a substantial relationship when the underlying criminal conduct concerns domestic abuse, and rejecting LIRC’s view that domestic violence crimes can never be substantially related to employment.
